ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΑ ΤΣΟΤΑΝΙΔΟΥ

Η Αλεξάνδρα Τσοτανίδου γεννήθηκε στην Ξάνθη το 1982. Είναι χορεύτρια, χορογράφος και καθηγήτρια χορού έχοντας ως βάση για πολλά χρόνια την Θεσσαλονίκη. Σπούδασε στην Ανώτερη Επαγγελματική Σχολή Χορού "Ανδρομάχη Καφαντάρη" και στην Νομική Σχολή του ΑΠΘ. Ακολούθησε εκπαίδευση πάνω στο Ensemble Physical Theatre στην Αγγλία (University ofHuddersfield), παρακολούθησε το intensive course του SNDO (Άμστερνταμ), το Smash Berlin (movementresearch and practices on experimental performance) καθώς επίσης και σεμινάρια χορού και αυτοσχεδιασμού στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό.
Έχει συνεργαστεί με το ΚΘΒΕ ως χορογράφος και κινησιολόγος σε θεατρικές παραγωγές και με τις ομάδες "Vis Motrix","Kontakt Ensemble", "Δρώσα Μάζα", την κολεκτίβα Rough/Cut, καθώς και με ανεξάρτητους καλλιτέχνες ενώ ταυτόχρονα παρουσίαζε και δικές της προσωπικές δουλειές. Ήταν για 8 χρόνια μέλος του DUENDE International Ensemble, που έχει ως βασικό άξονα τον αυτοσχεδιασμό, την στιγμιαία σύνθεση αλλά και σύνδεση των ατόμων επί σκηνής.
Μέχρι και το καλοκαίρι του 2017 διδάσκει σύγχρονο χορό στην Θεσσαλονίκη, ενώ το 2018 επιλέγεται ως μία από τις νέες χορογράφους στο πρόγραμμα "Breaking Art" (Σοφία Μαυραγάνη / Θάνος Πολυμενέας-Λιοντήρης) για να παρουσιάσει δουλειά της σε συνεργασία με νέους συνθέτες στο Μέγαρο Μουσικής Αθηνών. Τον Σεπτέμβρη του 2018 γίνεται δεκτή στο μεταπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα MAin Theatre Practices στο ArtEZ Institute of the Arts(Arnhem, NL).
Από το 2019 ζει στην Ξάνθη και διδάσκει Σύγχρονο Χορό, Αυτοσχεδιασμό/Σύνθεση και Κινησιολογία για ηθοποιούς στην Ανώτερη Επαγγελματική Σχολή Χορού Φωτεινής Κουτλογεωργίου (Κομοτηνή), στο Ίδρυμα Θρακικής Τέχνης και Παράδοσης και το θεατρικό εργαστήρι Ανατολικά του Νέστου (Ξάνθη). Από το 2022 συμμετέχει στην οργανωτική ομάδα του Dancing RoutesKomotini Festival.
Alexandra Tsotanidou was born in Xanthi, Greece, in 1982. She is a dancer, choreographer, and dance educator, having been based for many years in Thessaloniki.
She studied at the "Andromache Kafantari" Professional School of Dance and holds a degree in Law from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She continued her artistic training abroad, studying Ensemble Physical Theatre at the University of Huddersfield (UK). She also attended the SNDO intensive course in Amsterdam and Smash Berlin (movement research and practices on experimental performance), as well as numerous dance and improvisation workshops in Greece and internationally.
She has collaborated with the National Theatre of Northern Greece (NTNG) as a choreographer and movement director for theatrical productions, and with the groups Vis Motrix, Kontakt Ensemble, Drosa Maza, the Rough/Cut collective, as well as with independent artists. Alongside these collaborations, she has presented her own choreographic work.
She was a member of the DUENDE International Ensemble for eight years, a group focused on improvisation, instant composition, and the live connection between performers on stage.
Until the summer of 2017, she taught contemporary dance in Thessaloniki. In 2018, she was selected as one of the emerging choreographers of the Breaking Artprogram (curated by Sofia Mavragani and ThanosPolymeneas-Liontiris), presenting her work in collaboration with young composers at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron Mousikis). In September 2018, she was accepted into the postgraduate program MA in Theatre Practices at the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts(Arnhem, the Netherlands).
Since 2019, she has been living in Xanthi, where she teaches Contemporary Dance, Improvisation/ Composition, and Movement for Actors at the "Fotini Koutlogeorgiou" Professional School of Dance(Komotini), the Foundation of Thracian Art and Tradition, and the theatre studio Anatolika tou Nestou(Xanthi). Since 2022, she has been a member of the organizing team of the "Dancing Routes Komotini"Festival.
