Deniz Kılınç Tunçeli

Born 1981 in Istanbul. In 1992, after succeeding in the entry exams at M.S.G.S.U State Conservatory, she started her education as a ballet student. Besides her education at the Conservatory, in 1995 she started to work on temporary contract at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet. 


After graduating in 2002, she joined the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet. In 2006, she danced at Theater Festival in Ludwigshafen, Germany, "Zwichen irgend etwas, irgendwo" choreographed by Ugur Seyrek. In the same year, she danced the piece called "Sacrifice" which choreographed by Ugur Seyrek at Royal Opera House in London with a mixed program prepared especially for a Tribute to Dame Ninette de Valois.


 She was a guest artist at the 1st Istanbul International Ballet Festival with the piece called "Sacrifice" choreographed by Ugur Seyrek. In 2010 she danced the piece called "Black and White" choreographed by Mehmet Balkan ,at the Gala which organised by Hikasa Ballet in Japan. 


At 18th and 19th Aspendos Ballet Festival, she danced " Odette " with Dutch National Ballet's principal dancer Jozef Varga in Swan Lake choreographed by Mehmet Balkan. Then she was invited to dance the same role in Prague. In 2012 she won the award of Andante Magazine ,"Best Female Dancer of the Year" with the role "Charlotte" in the piece "The Sorrow of Young Werther" coreographed by Yannik Boquin for Istanbul State Ballet and the role "Odette" of Swan lake choreographed by Mehmet Balkan.  


She danced at the opening piece 'Bodrum of Love' for the 10th Bodrum Ballet Festival, choreographed by Mehmet Balkan. She danced the leading roles with the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet. She is still dancing and also as an ballet class instructor in the same company.


In 2023 she is one of the Kılınç Dance Academy which was established.
